I saw the preview for this movie, which was rather misleading. It made me believe that this was going to be corny & far-fetched. So maybe it is just a tad corny & only a little far-fetched, but I, unlike what seems to be the rest of the world, enjoyed it. The story wasn't weighed down with superfluous character development that would make it seem cheesy, & the dialogue could have used a little help, but hey–the Stealth jets were very cool; my brother & I watched this movie turned uploudwe could possibly handle it just to hear the awesome sounds of the engines. Josh Lucas did a creditable job; I was a little wary of the romance element to the movie,& it's potential for being cliché, but it was almost non-existent. Almost. A great movie for pure entertainment purposes–definitely not to analyze for deep meaning, though the end might seem intriguing enough to warrant a discussion.
With the way action movies have been in recent years (with the exception of 300), they just aren't cutting it. Cheap, indirect, muted, jaded, messy, boring, bad… and Stealth is no exception, and in fact is actually quite the champion of this sad and horrible truth. Stealth is not only the worst action movie ever made, but also the worst movie ever made – it's hard to evaluate the perimeters to make that claim objectively,the silliest, shortest, most shaky video on Youtube could qualifybeing the worst in a technical sense, or the snarky comedy hit of last year that is forgotten now could be the most vicious and dishonest thing created (for the time being…), but my criteria combines a recognition of all the things that ruin a work by means of dishonesty, ineptitude and a lack of passion, and in that sense Stealth holds the scepter and wears the crown.<br/><br/>Stealth unified that triforce of demerit and brought it to perfection – or anti-perfection if you will – a product with the intention of being a blockbuster hit but minus the functionality and purity of great artwork that deserves it, substituting quality with special effects and replacing originality with "tried-but-true" copycat design, throwing itself out to make the rounds at theaters, collecting the dollars, being quickly disregarded and tossed in the vault, done and over with, out to DVD perhaps, and then finally just forgotten. It represented Hollywood's idea of "businessusual" so severely that all aspects of the movie just exaggerate its awfulness; The obvious product placement, the terrible special effects that have no meaning being in the movie other than they can be put there, the script that just throws itself around to emulate drama and a bad dude attitude. Combined, it's something like this: "PLANEBOT JUST FINISHED UPLOADING EVERY MP3 IN THE WORLD, TIME TO PLAY SOME REAL WORLD POPULAR SONGS FOR GIGGLES (AND A POTENTIAL MOVIE MUSIC ALBUM – CHACHING!!)" It's all there, all the sleazy tricks of Hollywood suits just thinking up the same tired nonsense, feeding it to people who deserve better and having them grow sedated, sick but willing since there isn't anything better for them to be digesting in their passive state, like digging in a bag of potato chips and drinking soda and reaching for one last chip and sip, knowing all too well the savor is gone and you're just going to be left feeling groggy, gross, and repulsed, but you'll do it anyways since its there and it's convenient and, OH GOD, BLEARRYUUFHH I JUST THREW UP!! It's the same with Stealth but magnified.<br/><br/>Stealth holds the title of abhorrence and fights back the would-be usurpers with a fervent claim to its crown, appointed by the majesty of an undeniable truth like breathing air or looking to the sunny sky and seeing it blue. Perhaps there have been worse movies than Stealth, but it represents the concept of "bad" with such awesome power that it mightwell be representative of not only all the worst action flicks made, but all the worst movies ever created.
Even Cohen can't dull the loony romanticism of the movie’s finale and, to his credit, stages one truly spectacular bit of action midway through, when Biel bails out behind enemy lines and narrates each harrowing moment of her earthward plummet.
Their is no official service wide policy in effect in peacetime. Whether or not officers and enlisted personnel wear dress uniform, uniform of the day or civilian clothing to frequent bars and nighclubs while overseas and off duty. Then it is always up to the discretion of the commanding officer of each command/unit/ship/submarine to set forth the uniform of the day requirements regarding how service members will be attired while off duty and mixing with the local civilian population. Keep in mind that whenever in uniform American service members are representing their nation and should always be on their best behavior. While stationed in the USA then uniform requirements are often relaxed for local commands including those stationed in Alaska and Hawaii. For naval personnel, dress whites are always difficult to keep clean the majority of the time.
